Reviewer Guidelines

The integrity and scientific quality of MOP Oncology depend on the rigorous, objective, and timely contributions of our reviewers. We greatly appreciate your expertise and commitment to advancing oncology research.

The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation.


I. Becoming a Reviewer

There are two ways to obtain a Reviewer account:

1. By Editorial Invitation

The Editorial Office may invite qualified experts in oncology and related disciplines. In this case, an account will be created and assigned with the Reviewer role.

2. Self-Registration

If you wish to serve as a reviewer:

  1. Click the “Register” link on the journal homepage.

  2. Complete all required fields (Username, Password, Name, Email, Affiliation, Areas of Expertise).

  3. Ensure you check the option:
    “Yes, I would like to be contacted with requests to review submissions to this journal.”

  4. Click “Register.”

You will be registered in the system and may be assigned manuscripts based on your expertise.


II. Peer Review Process

Comprehensive Oncology follows a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers must:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality

  • Declare any conflicts of interest

  • Provide constructive, unbiased, and evidence-based evaluations

  • Complete reviews within the assigned deadline

Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, originality, clinical relevance, and methodological rigor.


III. Step-by-Step Guide to Reviewing a Manuscript

  1. Log In
    Access your account via the “Login” button.

  2. Check Review Invitations
    On your dashboard, check the notification area for pending review requests.

  3. Accept or Decline the Invitation

    • Click the manuscript title to view the abstract.

    • Confirm there is no conflict of interest.

    • Click “Accept Review” or “Decline Review.”

  4. Download the Manuscript
    After accepting, download the blinded manuscript file.

  5. Review the Reviewer Guidelines
    Carefully read any specific instructions provided for the manuscript type (original research, review article, case report, etc.).

  6. Evaluate the Manuscript
    Review the manuscript based on:

    • Scientific originality and relevance to oncology

    • Methodological soundness and statistical validity

    • Ethical compliance (e.g., IRB approval, informed consent)

    • Clarity of presentation and structure

    • Interpretation of results and clinical/translational significance

  7. Complete the Review Form
    Provide:

    • Confidential comments to the Editor

    • Constructive comments to the Author

    • A clear recommendation (Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject)

  8. Submit Your Review
    Upload annotated files (if applicable) and click “Submit Review.”

Your review process is now complete.


IV. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must:

  • Treat manuscripts as confidential documents

  • Not use unpublished data for personal research

  • Declare any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest

  • Report suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical misconduct

The journal adheres to internationally recognized publication ethics standards.
